Blogs

Hi Michael, Robin, Eva and Carla

Greetings to you guys up in Playas. I'm stoked that you're interested in helping me plan for my Mom's care. This site will give you a little history of my "Dodie Quest." For the future I hope we can use this site with its blog and forum features to communicate. For purposes of security, once you guys have signed up I can make blog and forum entries visible only to those who are signed up on the site. And I can control who signs up. So what do you think? I'd like to hear from all of you. If you do like this way of communicating, I'll post some more info about resources available to us, needs, possibilities, etc. BTW almost everything about this website can be changed. So please don't let the colors and site layout bother you. All that is just digital wall paper so to speak.

Jay Martin Joins Dodie Care LLC as CIO

Jay Martin, my longtime friend and IT associate, has accepted the role of CIO for Dodie Care LLC. This is a huge addition to the company. Jay has years and years of experience in IT, from bottom to top and most places in between. Look for some marked improvements in our IT presence as Jay puts his experience to work.

Our logo picture

In case you want more info on our logo picture of Dodie and friends here it is! Texas State Fair, Dallas, 2007: Lottie Minick & son James Randall give Dodie the VIP tour. Dodie took Lottie and her husband Bob under her wing long before James Randall came along! Bob and Lottie were just starting what has turned out to be a very successful amusement industry business. This is a great story in itself, but for later.

All the way from Utah for dentist, olive oil, and wine!

This morning, I met Jim and Diane. They own one of Baja Marvin's houses right next to the Castle here in Puerto Nuevo. They were heading out to Dr. Zamora's dental office in Rosarito. They drove in last night from the St. George Utah area. Jim said over the years they have probably brought Dr. Zamora $300,000 to $400,000 in dental work by referring friends and family.

I had heard Dr. Zamora was good. But I had no idea!

Answering Michelle: What I like about Baja

A couple of days ago my friend Michelle Solomon sent me an email entitled "Mexico." Michelle knows about the quest to provide care and joy for my Mom. "How are you doing," Michelle asked. The answer to that question varies a lot. There's a little more consistency in what I like. So I'll answer that question instead. I like the adventure most days. At times though something easier would be OK. I like living just a street over from the naked lady house.

Getting it!

Villa Balmara on its lava cliff, San Antonio del Mar, Baja California Norte, June 2, 2008. Here on the latest Dodie Quest. Can I find a place for Dodie and me in Baja?

Dodie on Vacation

On Thursday May 15, Dodie headed off to Manor Care in North Richland Hills to take a break from home life and socialize a bit. She'll be back to River Crest on Tuesday, May 20. The great folks at Season's Hospice made the arrangements. Dodie's rich uncle is covering the outing.
